Level 10 – score a 34.00 to Regionals, top 7 per age division with a minimum of 34.00 All Around to JO Nationals

Please note that the Regional Committee voted to not allow refunds or replacements to regional competitions. In the past, there were substitutions allowed at Level 8 Regionals in the event a gymnast were to get hurt or otherwise not be able to compete at the Regional Championships.

Competitive Age Determination (R & P page 20)
The age of the gymnast is determined by the last day of culminating meet for the level.
In the case of Compulsories and Levels 7, 9 and 10, it would be the State Meets. For Level 8, age is determined by the Regional Meet.

Level 4 age as of Dec. 16, 2007
Level 5 age as of Dec. 9, 2007
Level 6 age as of Dec. 2, 2007
Level 7 age as of Apr. 6, 2008
Level 8 age as of Apr. 27, 2008
Level 9 age as of Mar. 30, 2008
Level 10 age as of Mar. 30, 2008

Note: These dates determine which competitive age group your athlete
should compete in for the entire competitive season.

State meet entry fee
Compulsory Levels 4, 5, and 6 $55.00 plus $5.00 Region III Assessment for a total of $60.00

Optional Levels 7, 8, 9, and 10 $65.00 plus $5.00 Region III Assessment for a total of $70.00
State Meet Team Competition
There will be team competition at each level’s state meet for those teams wishing to enter. For the Over All Team awards five (5) scores will count and for the Age Group awards three (3) scores will count for Compulsories.

The Age groups for TEAM COMPETITION
Level 4: 6-7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12+ (for a total of six age groups)
Level 5: 7-9, 10, 11, 12+ (for a total of four age groups)
Level 6: 7-10, 11-12, 13+ (for a total of three age groups)
Level 7: 8-11, 12-13, 14+ (for a total of three age groups)
Level 8: Juniors 13 and under and Seniors 14 and over
Levels 9 & 10 will be Juniors and Seniors to be determined at a later date.

Specialist Competition
A gymnast may compete as a specialist only at Levels 8, 9 or 10 in the state of Colorado. She may compete in only one and up to 3 events as a Specialist. She must declare her Specialist Status on or before the last qualifying date for Level 8, 9 and 10 state (March 16, 2008). Declaration must be done in writing and be in the hands of the State Chairman (Cindy Miyake), the Overall Level Coordinator (Pam Turner) and the Level 8/9/10 Coordinator (Gary Gonzalez) by midnight on March 16, 2008.

The mobility score to move from one level to the next higher is 8.50 in the event(s) she specializes in.

The qualifying score for a Specialist to compete in State Meet is 9.20 on each event she will be specializing in.

The entry fee to state is $40 for one event, $50 for two events and $60 for three events.

Once a gymnast declares Specialist Status, she remains a specialist and may not petition to Regionals as an All Around gymnast. Any gymnasts wishing to compete at Regionals as an All Around Gymnast should not declare specialist status. A Specialist may only qualify to 9/10 Regionals. (See the minutes to the Regional Board Meeting 8/17/07.)

Dropping Back a Level
A gymnast may not drop back to a level lower than the level she has competed in the State Championships unless there is valid reason. (See R & P page 21.) If no Sectional Meet is held, (Colorado does not have sectional meets.) then the State Administrative Committee must determine a designated “declaration” date to declare which level the gymnast will compete at the State Championships that season. For this Optional Season and all Optional Seasons going forward, that date shall be February 20. The level the gymnast competes and receives scores either as an All Around or Specialist will be deemed to be that athlete’s competitive level unless declared otherwise by February 20. The declaration to drop back must be done in writing and received in hand by Regional Technical Chairman on or before February 20 at midnight.
